Connecting Communities Plus

The £18m Connecting Communities Plus (CC+) scheme is an integral part of the Government's stated aim 'to reduce race inequalities and tackle extremism'. The grant funding is for organisations that are committed to delivering projects and services that promote race equality and foster strong community relations.

There are three sorts of CC+ Grants:

  • Strategic grants for national level organisations
  • Project grants for organisations based in at least one of the English regions
  • Community grants for local groups

Strategic and Project Grants

A4e is responsible for managing both the Strategic and Project grant schemes, a total grant of £15m, between April 2006 and March 2009.

The window for applications is now closed but if you would like to see full details of the application and assessment process involved and a full list of the successful organisations for both the Strategic and Project grant schemes, please click here to download a copy of the final Final Connecting Communities Plus Application and Assessment Report.

There are now 11 Strategic and 68 Project organisations working with A4e's dedicated team of Grant Managers towards 'Improving Opportunities, Strengthening Society' - the Government's strategy to increase equality and community cohesion across England.

Through the CC+ programme we aim to build a network of support between Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), A4e and all the CC+ grant holders. As a key part of this we have developed a dedicated Connecting Communities Plus 'Community' site for all existing Strategic and Project grant holders. This site has been designed to provide guidance, support and regular updates to Connecting Communities Plus grant holders and to share news and views with others.

Click here to enter the Connecting Communities Plus 'Community' site where you'll need to enter your personalised username and password (if you have forgotten your username and password or have difficulties accessing the site, please contact your Grant Manager).

Community Grants

We would also like to take this opportunity to encourage you to visit the Community Development Foundation (CDF) website.

The CDF will be responsible for administering the Connecting Communities Plus Community Grants scheme and more details of this scheme are available on their website now.
