Money, Debt and Welfare Benefit Advice for City Council Tenants
From May 2006 to April 2007, Advice 4 Stoke delivered over 2,000 advice sessions; recsheduled over £3m of personal debt; prevented 79 individuals from being evicted form their homes; maximised income by £750,000 through welfare benefits and provided over 150 representations in court, tribunals and appeals.
Advice 4 Stoke is a FREE advice service available to City Council Tenants. If you are having money problems and would like advice and guidance that will help you improve your situation then we can help you. We will help you regain control of your finances. We’re trained to give advice in lots of different areas, so whatever your situation our trained advisers can help you. We can help you with:
• Debt Problems - rent and council tax arrears, utility payments, fines and possessions
• Personal finance – credit cards, overdrafts, loan repayments, charge cards, telephone and unsecured loans
• Welfare Benefit advice – claims and entitlements
How will we help you?
We understand that you will be dealing with a unique set of issues, so we believe it’s important to meet you on a one-to-one basis. We will work with you to understand your situation and then give you professional, confidential advice and support. We’re also able to help you with making applications, filling in paper work and we can even negotiate with creditors on your behalf.
