A4e’s ESF funded delivery programmes
A4e works in partnership with both the DWP (Department for Work and Pensions) and LSC (Learning and Skills Council) to deliver effective ESF (European Social Fund) funded programmes.
These programmes are designed and developed to help improve the lives of our individual customers and the communities where they live.
Each programme is designed and developed to suit the needs of the customer, with the focus on delivering the best service to find that customer employment. We offer advice and guidance, support and training to make the journey back into work a more fruitful experience.
With ESF funded provision we deliver to a variety of different customer groups, all with their own barriers to employment. Listed below is a quick ‘snapshot’ of what we deliver and where, and who you should contact for further information:

Thames Valley and Surrey

Recruiting Older Workers: This provision is an ESF/LSC funded programme focused on assisting people who are 50 years old and over find sustainable employment.

ESF Provision-BBO Mentoring: This DWP/ESF funded programme offers in depth mentoring, job brokerage and employment support to unemployed people.

Plymouth Works Plus: The project is aimed at improving the employability and skills of unemployed and inactive people, and tackling barriers to work through gaining employability skills, including entrepreneurship and skills for business.

Horizon: Horizon is not just about getting people into employment but working with those people who are furthest away from the labour market to overcome multiple barriers and help them with their journey towards employment. This is achieved by providing each of our customers with Intensive Support tailored to their specific needs.

Employment Solutions: This programme is designed to offer those that are from the more disadvantaged groups, the skills and support across a range of activities, to help move them into sustainable employment.

Self-Employment: This programme is designed to offer participants, from the most disadvantage groups, the necessary support to move into sustained self employment. The programme is split into 2 phases – an 8 week business planning stage and 26 weeks of test trading. The business planning phase will offer you 1 day per week training and support to enable you to produce your fully completed business plan.

Job Support: Job Support is just what it says, a way for A4e staff to support unemployed people in their aim to gain new skills and return to work. Job Support has been specifically designed to support unemployed people who are seeking employment.
