A4e began delivering employment and skills training in Northern Ireland in 2007 and is delivering a delivery infrastructure that will ensure that it is able to play a major role in the development and delivery of the country’s employment and training services.
A4e has been working tirelessly in Northern Ireland to lay service delivery foundations, building strategic relationships with the public, private and third sector to ensure that it has become embedded within a host of communities across the country. Over the last year A4e has been speaking with these community residents, local groups and employers to ensure that it understands their needs.
In March 2007, A4e was awarded its first contract in Limavady, County Londonderry. Through the ‘Pathways to Work for Lone Parents’ pilot programme, A4e is supporting lone parents move into work as part of the broader Pathways to Work flagship initiative. In May 2007, A4e was excited to learn that it had enjoyed further success in Northern Ireland with the award of another substantial contract with the Department for Employment and Learning. A4e was awarded the contract to deliver a new programme, branded Training for Success’, which comprises three strands; Job-Ready and also Level 2 and Level 3 Apprenticeships. The programme will be delivered across Northern Ireland and is available to 16 – 24 year olds and will ensure that participants gain the professional and technical skills they need for employment.
