How we help unemployed people back into work
A4e has been delivering employment training and job opportunities to unemployed people for over twenty years. We are currently the UK's largest provider of employment services delivered under the New Deal brand, which is the UK's programme delivered through Jobcentre Plus to assist unemployed people back into sustainable employment. In addition to this work in England, Scotland and Wales, A4e also delivers employability programmes in Northern Ireland, on behalf of the Department for Employment and Learning, and in Israel, France and Germany.
Wherever A4e works its approach is similar. A4e believes that it is only possible to build effective employment programmes by working closely with existing stakeholders, to explore local issues and then create a community specific programme that will give people the best chance of returning to work.
We ask the unemployed people that we work with three questions:
1) What do you want to do?
2) What is stopping you?
3) What can we both do to get you where you want to be?
Some of the answers are similar, many are different but this gives us a base from which we can understand aspiration and tailor training and support to address individual needs.
Whatever their background is and whatever their aspirations are, we have the experience and expertise to help.
