A4e New Deal Mentoring

The A4e New Deal Mentoring programme supports our unemployed clients by offering one-to-one tailored support on a weekly basis to help them overcome their barriers to employment. We understand that the roots of worklessness are diverse and hence the issues facing our clients are extremely varied and the programme enables people that have been unemployed for some time or have never have had a job to access intensive support through a Mentor.

Our volunteer mentors work with their mentees at one of 16 different locations across London, acting a a sounding board and helping them to overcome their barriers by helping them to identify their goals; set achievable targets; build their confidence and realise their potential.

Our volunteer Mentors come from a vast array of backgrounds and bring with them extremely diverse life experiences and expertise. Together, they give thousands of hours of support and encouragement to their mentees, guiding them towards finding work by helping them to imagine their lives in new ways.

On average 25% of people leaving the programme go on to find work and feedback from both volunteer mentors and clients has revealed that the overwhelming majority have found it to be a highly constructive and enriching experience.
